Varsity Track CHSL Championship

Coming out of the Catholic League Championships, the Monarchs had a solid showing. The boys were lead by Senior Noah Hamid placing 3rd in shot put (41' 7") and 3rd in discus (126' 8"). Leading the sprints was Sophomore Thomas day placing 2nd in 110m hurdles (16.93) and 3rd in 300m hurdles (45.07). Sophomore Dylan Ortiz lead the distance crew with a 3rd place finish in the 3200m (10:55) and 9th in the 1600 (5:09). The 4x100m consisting of Andrew Riha, Maximiliano Iglesias, Evan Trohimczyk and Darian Syska took 4th with a time of 48.18. Rounding out the field events Junior Evan Trohimczyk placed 2nd with a jump of 5' 6". These performances lead to a 5th place finish overall.

The girls were lead by Senior Mikayla Trumbla who finished 4th in the 200m (29.38) and 3rd in the 400m (1:04). Junior Jenny Chen lead the hurdles with a 2nd place finish in the 300m hurdles (54.39) and 4th in the 100m hurdles (18.81). Distance was lead by Freshman Lily Heath who places 4th in the 1600m (5:54) and 2nd in the 3200m (13:01.73). The 4x400m relay consisting of Ania Ghazzawi, Angel Ghazzawi, Alana Maffesoli and Mikayla Trumbla finished 2nd with a time of 4:30.28. The 4x800m consisting of Lily Heath, Alana Maffesoli, Angel Ghazzawi and Ania Ghazzawi finished 2nd with a time of 10:50.32. Field events were rounded out by Sophomore Mary Dziewit taking 7th in high jump with a height of 4' 6" and Junior Grace Sabo taking 7th in long jump with a jump of 13' 7.5". These performance lead to a 3rd place, just narrowly missing 2nd place.
