On Saturday, April 23rd, Cabrini hosted Inner-City Baptist in a non-league game. One bad inning proved to be the demise of the Monarchs, as they allowed Inner-City nine runs in an explosive second inning, which led to an eventual 14-9 loss.
Sophomore Briann Manning started and was tagged for 13 earned runs, despite racking up 12 K's. The Monarchs had to shuffle their lineup due to vacations, but still put up a good fight. Senior catcher Smantha Graf had three hits, one of which was a double, scored twice and knocked in a run, while also starting at shortstop and filling in at third. Fellow Senior Ella Nowc finished the day at short and went 2 for 2 scoring three times while driving in a run and had 3 stolen bases.
Freshman Morgan Frank also had a big day. She started at catcher and then moved to third base to finish the game. She went one for three and collected 3 RBI.
The Monarchs next game will be April 26th when they host Madison Heights Bishop Foley for a doubleheader.
