On Saturday, April 17th, Cabrini hosted a doubleheader versus Romulus Summit Academy. Initially it was going to be a round robin with Detroit Cristo Rey, but due to Covid protocols, they were unable to play.
In the first game, the Monarchs came away with a 15-0 victory, led by Senior pitcher Mackenzie Noah, in a game that was called after 4 innings due to the mercy rule. Noah threw a no hitter and dominated with 11 K's and helped her own cause at the plate with 2 RBI's and scored 3 runs. Sophomore Mary Schantz led the Cabrini attack going 2 for 3 at the plate with 5 RBI's. Fellow Sophomore Alexandra Fitch also went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI's. Senior Wyndem Reid and Junior Samantha Graf also contributed 2 RBI's a piece.
In the second game, the Monarchs went with Freshman Brianna Manning, as they once again won by an identical 15-0 score. Manning also pitched a no hitter in a game called after three innings due to the 15-0 score. She struck out six while on the mound and drove in 3 runs from the plate. Schantz had another 3 RBI's, Reid went 2 for 3 with 3 runs scored, Fitch went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI and Graf had 2 RBI's. Junior Ella Nowc joined the offensive display by going 2 for 3, with 2 RBI's and 3 runs scored.
Cabrini's next game is Monday, April 18th, when they travel to Southfield to face Southfield Christian.
