On Friday, the Cabrini softball team took on Cesar Chavez Academy. Unfortunately it was not much of a challenge for the Monarchs, as they faced a game but rebuilding program from the Academy.

The game was called after three innings due to the mercy rule being in effect, with the score 17-0. Junior Vivianna Gonzalez struck out all nine batters that she faced.she also scored 3 runs, had 3 RBI and 2 doubles.  The other juniors contributed as well to the hitting parade, with Michaleigh Vallimont scoring 3 runs and knocking in two, Caleigh Muglia had 3 RBI, Mackenzie Schick scored 3 times and had 2 RBI and Emma Delcotto had 3 RBI.

Sophomore Wyndhem Reid scored twice and the freshmen trio of Lily Vallimont, Samantha Graf and Ella Nowc accounted for 6 RBI and 4 runs scored. The Monarchs next game is Tuesday against rival Gabriel Richard. It should be prove to be another battle between the long time rivals. Cabrini then hits the road on Thursday for Farmington Hills to finish the regular league schedule with a game against the formidable Mercy team. Good luck Monarchs!
