The Cabrini softball team opened their 2019 season with a 13-3 victory over Grosse Ile. The game was shortened to 5 innings due to the mercy rule. Sophomore Mackenzie Noah struck out 12 of the 15 outs recorded by the Monarchs. On the offensive side the Monarchs were led by Junior infielders Michaleigh Vallimont, who hit a 3-run homer, had 4 RBI and scored 3 runs, Mackenzie Schick, who had 2 RBI and Vivianna Gonzalez, who had two hits and 2RBI. Freshman catcher Lilly Vallimont, making her high school debut, had two hits including a solo homer, had 2 RBI and scored twice.
The Monarchs next game is Thursday, March 28th on the road against Country Day High School at 4:30. Friday the girls travel to Regina for a double header.
