On Tuesday, Feb. 4th,  the Monarchs traveled to Whitmore Lake High School for a dual meet between Father Gabriel Richard/Greenhill/Whitmore Lake Coop. With 4 of our 20 swimmers out of the line up sick, Cabrini put up a tough fight but we couldn't hold off the charge from FGR Coop. The Monarchs still managed to post 62% of their swims as season/personal bests for the evening.

Evan Trohimczyk, Lily Heath and Christian Campitelle turned in a bright spot during the 100 Freestyle with a 1, 3, 5 performance that gave Cabrini the win for the event.  Heath and Campitelle also turned in PR's during the swim.  The only other event won by the Monarchs was Diving where Senior Grace Sabo turned in a near PR performance winning the event.  She was backed up by teammate Grace DeBerardino who finished 4th to cap of the event Monarchs 8 FGR Coop 7. In the end, the meet final team score was for the night was FGR Coop 125 Cabrini 57.

We started out way too slow to keep up with the power that FGR Coop was throwing at us in the early events.  After a short pep talk before diving to get us back on track, we kicked up the effort and finished the meet strong scoring the majority of our best performances after that. We were just a little shocked from our slow start and needed a little boost to get back on track. It just wasn't enough to pull off the victory.
