On Saturday, Dec. 28th, Cabrini hockey team picked up their second win of the season, by defeating Wyandotte by a score of 6-5 in overtime. It has been a rough go of it for the Monarchs this year as they try to mesh players from three schools, (Cabrini, Annapolis and Belleville) into a cohesive unit. Only two games have truly gotten out of hand, but for the most part the Monarchs have played tight games.
Cabrini was led in this game by Cabrini senior Luke Metropoulos, who broke out with 3 goals and an assist for a four point game. Sophomores Bram Wolf and Hayden Kieltyka each scored a goal and added an assist.. Junior Jacob Piccolo (Belleville) scored once and his schoolmates, seniors Evan Estes and Cole McNulty each contributed assists. Additionally, senior Nick Brown and junior Ian Kielb added assists for the Monarchs.
Cabrini's next games are this weekend in a home and home series with Divine Child. Friday, January 3rd, Cabrini plays host at the Allen Park Civic Center at 7p, followed by a game at 7p, Saturday at the Taylor Sports Plex.
