On Dec. 14th the Cabrini hockey team traveled to Ann Arbor to face Pioneer high school. In a close battle, the Monarchs prevailed 3-2 gaining their first win of the season. Senior Luke Metropoulus, junior Jacob Piccolo and sophomore Hayden Kieltyka scored for the Monarchs. Sophomore Andrew Seminara contributed two assists.Goalie Brandon Hiuser stopped 20 of the 22 shots he faced. Coach Matt Grant said, "We got off to a rocky start this season, losing close games to Temperance-Bedford and Allen Park, but we're starting to come together as a team." This is the first season as a three team co-op hockey program. The Monarchs have one player (Seminara) from Annapolis and five players, including Piccolo, from Belleville. Cabrini travels to Grosse Ile on Dec. 19 for a 7pm game and face Macomb Dakota on Saturday on the road as well. Go Monarchs!
