On Thursday night, the Cabrini Monarchs hockey team defeated Dearborn Unified 6-3. The game was riddled with penalties and it also featured a second period comeback by the Monarchs that would propel them to victory. After five first period penalties, the Monarchs found themselves trailing 3-1 heading into the final minute of the second period. Junior, Evan Taylor, jumped up into the play on the Penalty Kill and scored the Monarchs second goal on a rebound from a shot by Alex Teed. The Monarchs would respond by scoring four more unanswered goals throughout the rest of the game. Senior Defenseman, Zach Bagozzi led the Monarchs with 2 goals and 2 assists in the game. Alex Teed and Evan Taylor finished the night with two points each while Austin Kieltyka and Austin Molina both added a goal for the Monarchs. The Monarchs will resume Metro League play on Tuesday night with an away game against the Riverview Pirates.
