The Monarchs Varsity Hockey Team defeated Muskegon Mona Shores 2-1 in a thrilling overtime victory. The game remained scoreless until Mona Shores capitalized on a PowerPlay goal with only a minute remaining in the second period. The Monarchs continued to trail 1-0 late into the third period when Junior, Forward Luke Metropolous scored an unassisted goal with only two minutes remaining in the game to tie it at 1-1. The Monarchs dominated the first shift of the overtime period and Junior, Forward Austin Kieltyka ended the game only 40 seconds into the overtime with a rebound goal in front of the Mona Shores net. His game winning goal was assisted by Austin Molina. The Monarchs outshot the Sailors 46-19 throughout the game. Junior Goaltender, Vincent Maronni, started in goal for the Monarchs and stopped 18 of 19 shots on the night.
