CONGRATULATIONS!  Your game vs. Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes was selected as the Detroit Lions Michigan High School Football Game of the Week powered by Hudl for Division 8!  This is a great opportunity to showcase your student-athletes and football program throughout the state of Michigan! 

Important next steps—

1. PROMOTE VIA SOCIAL MEDIA!

Promote the fact your school has been selected for this week’s Detroit Lions Michigan High School Football Game of the Week on the school website, morning announcements and your school and football program’s social media channels.  (Attached are Facebook, Twitter and Instagram graphics that can be used to promote your football program’s Game of the Week selection.)

2. POSTGAME!

• Send the following to the Detroit Lions Hudl Account:
  • 8-10 plays to be sent through “Playlist” from your team of this week’s game film against Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes.  Your opponent will also send their best 8-10 plays through “Playlist” as well.  
    • IMPORTANT NOTE:  These plays MUST be sent either Friday after the game or by Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the latest to ensure proper promotion/recognition of your school’s involvement in the Detroit Lions Michigan High School Football Game of the Week.
    • One Way Exchange Tutorial:  This tutorial will walk you through how to do a One-way exchange. One thing to note, we will not require breakdown data in the playlist, however, if we can at least get Down, Distance, Result, and Gain/Loss it will help our selection process from the clips you submit.
    • Please consider sending both sideline and endzone copies if available.
    • We will promote your game via Detroit Lions Football Education social media channels beginning Saturday or Sunday depending on how promptly the information is received from each participating football program. 
  • Complete team rosters (including unique pronunciations) to allow us to voice over player names during this highlight package.
  • Game statistics to allow us to highlight the key players of the game. 
  • Head Coaches contact information (cell phone)-simply to be used to clarify a game situation, game statistic or player name pronunciation.
  • W-9 Form--Needed from your athletic department in order to process the grant money for your program.  Each Game of the Week school will receive a $550 grant to use for future Hudl subscriptions and services upon a timely receipt of the items mentioned above.  Check will be sent within 10-14 days of receipt of ALL items listed above. 
• Attached is a Game of the Week checklist to follow to make sure all items have been submitted.

3. ADDED VALUE BONUS!

• Each school in the Game of the Week will also have the opportunity to send one play from their game to be nominated for the NFL’s Way to Play program which recognizes the excellence demonstrated by high school players who exemplify proper playing technique to make impactful plays in partnership with Hudl.  This segment is featured nationally on Saturdays in a Good Morning Football segment.  (School of the chosen player will receive a $1500 equipment grant through USA Football) #NFLWaytoPlay.
