On Thursday, May 19th, the Cabrini baseball team hosted Detroit Cristo Rey in doubleheader. The Monarchs swept both games by scores of 12-0 and 13-1. In the first game, Senior Ryan Kugelman was tossing a no-hitter through 6 1/3 innings before he was tagged for a single. Kugelman helped his cause with one of two triples hit by the Monarchs, Sophomore Alex Thompson getting the other one.a triple cause.
In the second game, Junior Ben Luna threw 4 innings of scoreless ball. Fellow Junior Trevor Waltonbaugh also tossed one inning of scoreless, and the game was called due to the mercy rule.
The Monarchs have now won six of their last eight games. They next square off Tuesday, May 24th, against Romulus Summit Academy in a game at Cabrini.
