Congratulations to Cabrini Alumnus class of 2008, Katie (Osburn) Eaton, whose husband Adam, is now a member of the World Series Champion Washington Nationals. Osburn, who was a key contributor to the Monarchs two state titles and three finals appearances from 2006-2008 and the holder of numerous MHSAA records, met Eaton while both were attending Miami (Ohio) on athletic scholarships. Eaton was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks and later traded to the Chicago White Sox and then the Nationals.
Adam was one of the catalysts in an unprecedented run by the Nationals, that saw them come from behind in five elimination games to win the World Series. Additionally, they became the first team in any sport to win the championship by winning all of their games on the road.
The Eatons, who still reside in Michigan are still supporters of the Monarchs and their softball tradition. Congratulations from the Monarch family!
