The Cabrini Varsity Baseball team traveled to Milan High School for a doubleheader this past Saturday. The Monarchs would come out on top in both games with the scores of 12-8 and 16-9, to complete their second road sweep in in a week! On the mound, several guys came in to throw but senior Jimmy Fister and freshmen Ryan Kugelman would be the ones to come away with the wins. Fister would pitch four innings in the first game while allowing just one earned run and striking out four. Kugelman did a great job coming in relief in both games to slow down the opposing team's offense.
The Monarchs came off the bus swinging Saturday, scoring a total of 28 runs from 28 hits. Senior Logan Fryz led the charge going 6 for 9 on the day including 3 doubles, 5 RBIs, and scoring 7 runs on his own. Also contributing to the offensive charge would be senior Jimmy Fister and junior Nick Ballas, who each had 4 hits. Fister would add 4 RBIs while Ballas scored 4 runs. Fellow junior classmen Jonas Raiha was 4 for 8 on the day with 3 RBIs to round out the top of the offensive leaders. The Monarchs will resume league play this Wednesday, April 17th in a home doubleheader against Cardinal Mooney beginning at 4:30PM!
