On Saturday, Feb. 22nd the Cabrini bowling teams competed in the Catholic League Bowling Championships at Oak Lanes in Westland. And what a competition it was.

The semi-finals were Match-Play best 2 out of 3 Baker games. The Monarchs defeated Chesterfield Austin Catholic, 151-76 and 210-130. In the finals, also Match-Play Baker games, Cabrini had to face Madison Heights Bishop Foley, who they had lost to earlier in the year by just 11 pins,. and both teams tied for the regular season title.  After winning the first game 165-145, Bishop Foley game back to win the second game,139-143. It came down to game three and the Monarchs prevailed in a big way, 166-112.

Second year coach Josh Jablonski said he was very impressed at the way his team handled the pressure. He said the leadership of Senior Adam Bertiaume and Junior Matthew Heath throughout the year enabled the Monarchs to remain calm and focused in the final game and enabled them to pull off the victory. The Cabrini boys are now the Catholic League champions,Cardinal Division!

Jablonski said districts are next up on the agenda, and he's hoping for good results from both teams. Congratulations to both teams!
