Saturday was a cold day but the Monarchs had a great line up against 8 downriver teams in the Taylor Invitational  Cabrini took 5^th place.

This match against 8 teams is won by luck of the draw, if you win your first match you could place 1^st or  2^nd  place, lose your first match but win the next 2 matches you come in 3^rd.  Gabby Martin and Erin Renaud won medals and came in 3rd place,   Erin and Gabby the Monarchs number #1 doubles took 3^rd by decidedly beating Gabriel Richard by 2 sets in their last match.  It was an exciting match and the last match of the day. They did well under pressure and shined with all eyes on them.   Junior Marah Winkles held a new position as 3^rd singles and won a medal placing 2^nd place, winning two of her 3 matches.   Marah’s last match against Gabriel Richard was close.  Cabrini had several changes in their lineup because a few starters were unable to attend and due to an injury we had to realignment of several positions was necessary.   The feisty freshman won the 2^nd place medal.  Faith Hall and Izzy Wolney, who have been the dynamic duo defeated Gabriel Richard,winning two of their three matches.  They lost their last match to a seasoned pair from Southgate Anderson High School. Shayla Nyger and Savahanna Manungas are another up and coming duo who have played singles and doubles thru out the season.  They medaled and won 2 of their 3 matches winning 3^rd place. Maria Cyr and Teagan Lechnar played # 2 doubles and they played hard for this new pairing and won 1 of their 3 matches.  Also Bridget Villarreal played number #1 singles for the first time and played well winning 1 of her 2 matches.   All close matches.  Maddie Roy played #2 singles for the first time, played well and won 1 of her 2 matches.   Rachel Zarb is learning how playing a singles match for her first time is fun and challenging, she also claimed one win out of her 3 matches.
