On Tuesday, the Cabrini tennis team squared off against Monroe St. Mary's Catholic Central. Though the Monarchs lost 8-0, the girls played very hard. St Mary’s is one of the top teams in the Catholic Division.  Our number 1 doubles team comprised of Seniors Gabby Martin and Erin Renaud won the most matches against this tough team, (3-6, 3-6). Senior Maria Cyr our number 1 singles (3-6, 1-6) and our number 2 singles Junior Bridget Villarreal (2-6, 2-6), tied for winning the next highest amount of matches against St. Mary’s.  Junior Shayla Nguyen played number 4 singles for the first time and played hard, but lost (0-6, 2-6), Senior Teagan Lechnar and Junior Lauren Baird is a new team at number 3 doubles also put up a fight but lost (2-6, 0-6). Junior Addison Foy and Sophomore Savannah Manungas was a new number 4 doubles team for Cabrini, and they won a few matches as well (0-6, 2-6). Our first two matches were against the top teams in the Catholic Division. With these matches under their belt, the Monarchs are looking for better results in the future.
