Cabrini played a very good team from Everest in the season opener for the Tennis team. This was one of the top teams Cabrini played last year and it ended up a 1 – 7 lose this time. It was the first match, and it showed there is some more work ahead for the team. The one winning point was won by Freshman, Isabella Wolney. "There are big expectations for Isabella this year", said head Coach Kim Beluzo. The number #4 doubles, Junior Lauren Baird and Sophomore Savannah Manungas played and exciting match but lost in a tie breaker. The number #2 doubles team of Marah Winkles and Maddie Roy played well and won 4 out of 8 games. Cabrini's #1 doubles pairing of seniors Gabby Martin and Erin Renaud won 2 games out of 8 games. The Monarchs played eight set pro games at the Fairlane Club in Dearborn, which was nice enough to host the match for the schools. This was a greatly appreciated, since the weather is always changing in Michigan.
