On Thursday, May 5th, the Cabrini Lady Monarchs Soccer Team hosted Bloomfield Hills Frankel Jewish Academy in a CHSL matchup. The Lady Monarchs came out on top with a rousing 10-2 victory that was halted midway through the second half due to the mercy rule.

Cabrini got off to a very quick start when Freshman Carly Roth tallied the first of the Monarchs goals in the first 15 seconds of the game. That first goal was soon followed by two goals a piece from Sophomore Madelyn Glazier and Junior Elaine Teed. The sixth goal of the half was scored by Junior Niamh O'Connell, two more goals were scored by Sophomore Ava Teed, and Senior Abby Portmann finished off the half with the Monarchs ninth goal of the game. The first half ending score was 9-2.

The final goal of the game was put in by Roth in the second half ending the game with a score of 10-2.  Freshman Isabella Perez, in her first start in goal was backed by a solid defense which once again led to the victory. Coach Tony Pizzo said," The defense doesn't get enough credit, but with them pushing the ball forward and clearing the zone, our forwards and midfielders were put in prime position to score.

The Monarchs next game will be Tuesday, May 10th, when they travel to 

Riverview to face Gabriel Richard.
