On Thursday, May 6th, the Monarchs traveled to Riverview to face league rival Gabriel Richard. In a tough defensive game Cabrini came out with a 2-2 tie. Though the Monarchs controlled the game for the most part, the Pioneers, who kept five players back on defense, were able to thwart several Cabrini scoring opportunities. Richard scored first on a penalty kick. Cabrini came back with a score of its own on a penalty kick by Elaine Teed. Teed scored again to put Cabrini ahead 2-1, when Teed hit a 16 footer deep into the far right corner. Richard came back with a little over a minute to go, when they scored on a free kick that escaped the hands of the Cabrini goalie. A very soggy and physical affair ended in a tie.
