On Tuesday, March 8th, the Cabrini Girls Basketball team faced off against Detroit Voyageur Prep in a regional semi-final game, hosted by Ecorse High. The Monarchs started off strong and proved to be the stronger team with a 71-13 victory. While the defense was shutting down their opponents, the offense exploded. Sophomore Kaitlyn Jabczenski led the one sided victory with15 points, Junior Mary Schantz also scored in double figures with 11 points. In a well balanced attack, Junior Elaine Teed scored seven points and Senior Ella Nowc six points. Coach Karen Jabczenski said it was another team effort, with all players on the roster scoring at least one basket.
The Monarchs now move on to the regional final against #1 seeded Ypsilanti Arbor Prep, on Thursday, March 10th, also at Ecorse High.
