On Monday, December 20th, the Cabrini Girls basketball team hosted Southgate for both varsity and JV games. The Monarchs rolled to a 57-29 over the Titans, led by Senior Ania Ghazzawi's 16 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 7 steals. Freshman Kaitlyn Jabczenski, also had a big night with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists. Junior Mary Schantz dominated in the paint with a double double,13 points, 20 rebounds, 8 steals. Coach Karen Jabczenski said, "I was very pleased with the effort the girls exhibited. It was a total team effort."  The girls return to action on January 4th when they host Wixom St. Catherine's at 7p.

The Junior Varsity also had a dominating defensive performance, as they downed the Titans 40-18. Freshman Maddie Portmann led all scorers with 18 points. Sophomores Amy Tran and Ashley Pelc led the defense with multiple steals and forced turnovers. Freshmen Maggie Delaney, Maeve O'Connell, and Portmann assisted the defensive effort with a blocked shot a piece.
