Dec. 10th was a good day for the Cabrini girls basketball teams. Following up on their first win of the year against Trenton, the JV team produced a strong offensive and defensive showing against Petersburg-Summerfield. led by sophomores Ella Nowc with 14pts, and Layal Saleh with 8 pts, and freshman Elaine Teed with 9pts, the Monarchs rolled to a 48-11 victory. First year coach Alicia Morrone said she was proud of the team's performance and they prepare for a tough challenge on Dec. 12th at home against Monroe St. Mary's Catholic Central at 5:30. "The girls really stepped up and we were able to get everyone into the game and gain significant playing time.", she said.

The varsity bounced back from a tough three point loss to Trenton with a decisive 50-39 win over Clarkston Everest. The Monarchs were led by seniors Emma Delcotto, 15 pts, Hannah Cieglo, 10 pts., and Mackenzie Schick, 9pts.  Coach Strong said, " We didn't play our best game, but it was good enough to pull out a win. Thursday will be a challenge, but the girls are up for it." The varsity girls' game starts at 7p at Cabrini. Go Monarchs!
