On Saturday, March 6th, the Cabrini Boys Varsity and JV basketball teams hosted Clarkston Everest. The JV Boys came back from a nine point deficit at halftime to tie Everest in regulation in the closing seconds, but could not get a basket down, forcing overtime. Unfortunately the Monarchs fell in overtime 38 to 36. Freshman Alex Thompson led Cabrini with 10 points and seven assists. Sophomore Brayden McKay added nine points in the defeat.
The Varsity boys game was not as close as the undermanned Monarchs lost 56 to 27. Sophomore Owen Tomsic led the Monarchs with 14 points and Chris Courtwright added 12 points.
The Monarchs' next games are Wednesday, Mar. 10th, when the varsity travels to Waterford to take on Our Lady of the Lakes in a league contest, while the JV travels to Harper Woods for non-league game.
