Cabrini Softball State Regionals

On Saturday, June 12th, Cabrini hosted State Regional softball games with the winner proceeding to the state quarter finals. In the first game Royal Oak Shrine defeated Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest in a slugfest, and proceeded to the regional final.

In the second game of the day, the Monarchs faced off against Whitmore Lake.  Senior pitcher Mackenzie Noah struck out nine in a game shortened to 5 innings due to the mercy rule.  Cabrini was winning 12-1 at the time.  Noah helped her own cause in a big, big way, by going 2-4, driving in 8 runs, with 2 home runs and scoring twice.

Junior Ella Nowc went 3-3, one of the hits was a double, scored 3 runs, walked and drove in one run, while her fellow classmate Samantha Graf went 2-2 and scored twice. Two freshmen had a good game as well, Brianna Manning scored 3 runs and  Nicole Teed drove in 3 runs. With the win, the Monarchs moved on to the regional final vs. Shrine.

The Cabrini team had another strong performance winning by a score of 13-0 in 4 innings due to the mercy rule being in effect. Eight different players had significant impacts on this game. Senior Wyndhem Reid went 4-4 and scored 3 runs while driving in four runs with a double and home run over the left field fence. Her fellow senior, Noah, went 2-3, scored once and drove in 2 runs with a double to her credit. Nowc went 1-3, scored 2 runs and drove in 2 runs and Graf went 1-3 with an RBI.

Sophomore Mary Schantz went 2-3, scored a run and drove in a run as well. A trio of freshmen finished out the offensive attack. Manning went 2-2, scored twice and drove in 2 runs, Teed went 1-3 and scored two runs, while Ashley Pelc finished with one run scored and one RBI.
