On Monday, April 20th, the Cabrini softball team travelled to Plymouth to face Plymouth Christian in a non-league game. The Monarchs kept up their winning ways with a 16-0 victory in a game called after innings due to the mercy rule.
Once again the Monarchs received strong pitching from Senior Mackenzie Noah and Freshman Briann Manning. The two combined to no hit Plymouth Christian and strike out seven of the nine batters they faced, an abbreviated, but perfect game.
On the offensive side, Senior Wyndem Reid led the Cabrini going 2 for 3 with 4 RBI's and scored 3 runs. Junior Ella Nowc went 2 for 2 with 2 RBI's, Manning 2 for 3 with 3 RBI's and Sophomore Mary Schantz 2 for 2. Noah, who was walked twice, scored 3 runs.
Cabrini faces it's first real test on Thursday, April 22nd, when they host Riverview Gabriel Richard for a doubleheader in a Catholic League match up. Coach Debbie Norman said that despite this being a young team, the senior leadership has struck a chord of hard work and a willingness to work with them in an effort to have a successful season.
