Boys Varsity Bowling
Game Summaries & Headlines.
On Wednesday, Feb. 10th, the Cabrini Boys and Girls bowling teams traveled to Cherry Hill North to face Chesterfield Austin Catholic in matches hosted by Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes. The boys came out victorious with a 29-1 victory, improving to 2-0 on the season. Junior Christopher Stevens led the Monarchs with games of 233 and 170. Sophomore David Kowalski also had a big day with scores of 202 and 172. Junior Evan Pogorzelski rounded out the top three Monarch bowlers with 167and 172.
The girls weren't as fortunate, falling to the Austin team by a score of 28-2. The girls were led by Sophomore Jordan Downham who rolled games of 195 and 138. Junior Samantha Graf and Freshman Brianna Manning also rolled high games of 138. The Lady Monarchs fell to 2-1.
On Thursday, Feb. 11th, the Monarch bowling team hosted the Boys team from Detroit Loyola and the Girls team from Riverview Gabriel Richard at Thunderbowl Lanes. Once again the boys came out on top, this time by a score of 22-8, improving their record to 3-0. The Monarchs were led by Senior Matthew Heath with a score of 191. Stevens had a high score of 178, and Kowalski came through with two games of 169.
Once again the girls fell short losing to Gabriel Richard 27-3, dropping their record to 2-2. Downham led the Girls with games of 162-166 and Manning chipped in with a 148.
The Monarchs boys next match is Monday, Feb. 15th, when they travel to Astro Lanes to face Riverview Gabriel Richard, in matches hosted by Madison Heights Bishop Foley. On Wednesday, Feb. 17th both teams will be hosting the Catholic league teams at Thunderbowl Lanes.
