Boys Varsity Cross Country
Game Summaries & Headlines.
On Saturday Cabrini competed in a Cross Country meet featuring ten boys teams and five girls teams. Though the boys team finished tenth overall, this meet had teams from Livonia Stevenson, Birmingham Brother Rice, Novi Catholic Central and Dearborn Divine Child among others. Cabrini was the smallest team competing.
Sophomore Christopher Russelburg led the Monarchs with a time of 18:59, to finish 38th overall. He was followed by Junior Bram Wolf clocking in at 19:20 and Senior Gregory Pomponio at 21:36 (season best).
The Lady Monarchs came out very strong as they captured first place overall and five runners medaled. Freshman Ava Teed led the way with a time of 21:39 to finish second overall. Juniors Lily Heath, Ania Ghazzawi and Ella Nowc finished fourth, fifth and sixth respectively with times of 22:49, 23:14 and 24:04.. Freshman Nicole Teed rounded out the top ten with a time of 24:34
Coach Zander Pollack was very pleased with the Lady Monarchs domination of the top ten finishes. Additionally two boys and one girl had personal best times, which he found encouraging. He said that the team is looking good with the season in full swing.
