Cabrini opened up District play Wednesday night playing Dearborn Riverside Academy West  at Ecorse High School as the Monarchs took a 19-11 lead after the first quarter the 2^nd quarter was  a tale of two teams as the Wildcats pounded the glass getting many 2^nd chance baskets along with Cabrini going cold by scoring only 12 points Riverside cut the lead 31 to 25. After a good half-time discussion the Monarchs took control of the game outscoring their opponent 26 to 14 & taking a commanding 57-39 lead to end the 3^rd quarter. On this night the Monarchs checked off another goal for this season by winning the schools first basketball district game since 2013, Cabrini was lead by senior Owen Tomsic who had a game, career & season high 32 points, and not to be outdone senior Jack Delaney added 17 points and 8 rebounds, in all 9 players scored for the Monarchs. Cabrini will play Ecorse in the district finals on Friday 3/10 @ 7:00.
