Announcements and Important Events
Cabrini High School is proud to announce that Alana Maffesoli has signed with the University of Michigan to become its newest member of the distinguished Rowing team. Alana has been a multiple sport athlete for all four years of high school. She was a member of the Cross Country team that finished 10th overall in the state in Division Four this year. She has also played basketball and competed on the track team for all four years competing in the shot put, mid distance and distance events. This year she is considering expanding her athletic prowess by playing softball.
A solid student, she is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council Executive Board and Students for Life. She is deeply committed to her faith and is a member of the Cabrini Youth Group, the Sunday Mass Choir and a Sunday School volunteer. Alana's parents Mike and Sarah, are very proud of her and are assured that she will continue to serve as a role model to her two brothers and one sister.
Zander Pollack, Maffesoli's Cross Country and Track coach said, " She is a true team player. Alana isn't about her own accolades, it's all about the team. She pushes her teammates to be the best they can be and picks them up when they're down. She's a truly remarkable individual."
Assistant Coach Dan Harrison said, "We recruited her to be part of this team because of Alana's work ethic, commitment to excellence and academic achievements, but most importantly her team mentality. Rowing is truly a team sport that depends on moving parts that work in conjunction with each other, like a fine tuned machine. We are excited to have Alana join our team and look forward to what she will bring to the team over the next several years."
